stop sign Have you checked PowerShool? This is your responsibility! Make sure that the grade you are recieving is the grade you are expecting. If not, then it is probably a good idea to talk to your teacher about why that is. Easy hed 796x398 Technology is not an easy button to be exploited. It is created by humans to aid in a variety of tasks. It must be learned, harnessed and mastered.

NO LATE WORK WILL BE ACCEPTED!

It is time to utilize full motion audio/video to create a presentation. Here is the scenario.

You operate your very own streaming media show - one where you broadcast to a diverse group of people who tune in and watch frequently to whatever it is you are doing at any given time. At this particular time, however, you are giving a demonstration on how to complete a process – in effect: a demonstration video.

By the way: WE WILL BE PRESENTING THESE VIDEOS IN CLASS...so, make it good.

  1. All topics must be pre-approved by the teacher.

  2. I will allow teams of two people maximum. But, understand, both team-members get the same grade. You are relying on each other to maintain a good quality project product.

  3. Review this spreadsheet on Google Sheets

  4. This project must be storyboarded prior to recording (download this storyboard and use it as an example). Basically, your instructor must approve just how it is that you’re going to proceed with the project. And, you have to create your own storyboard. You cannot use mine (Orbital Approach Design). I would consider using Illustrator to make it.

  1. You must use your USB cable to transfer video from your device to the PC (WiFi is unstable, slow, and terrible).
    1. Test your wired device (using the USB cable) with file transfer from phone/iPad to your Windows PC - NOT TESTING THIS EARLY ON CAN RESULT IN ABSOLUTE HEART BREAK.
    2. Transferring files from iPad to Google and then finally to Windows can corrupt the files (I am not in control of this).

  2. When you record, hold your device horizontally so that you get that cinema/theater/tv look. If you hold your phone straight up and down, your video content will be a tall rectangle instead of a wide rectangle.
  3. Record in small clips (about 1 minute or less) and then piece the clips back togetheri n Adobe Premiere.

  4. Use more than just one cameral angle

  5. The Video must be considered original (raw) footage and you are the star of the show. You can use other actors in your production. But, you are the one giving the main demonstration on how to complete a task.

  6. The topic must be approved prior to recording. This is important because if the topic isn’t approved and you record/edit the entire project, it’ back to square one.
    1. No "Let's Play" style videos (Seriously - they bore me)
    2. No videos violating school policy on "appropriate" content"

  7. The video will be "shot" (recorded) by any device you choose - Smart Phone, iPad, Digital SLR Camera, etc.  However, this means you have to find a way to get the video from camera to computer. Saving footage via usb cable is a good idea (unless you use apple products, because we do not use iTunes in our class).

  8. The video will be edited in Adobe Premiere.

  9. The soundtrack will be scored in FL Studio
    1. You cannot just import an FL Studio file into Premiere. You must "render" or "export" the FL Studio file into either .wav or .mp3/.mp4 format.
    2. Be sure to mix your sound in FL Studio before you render.

  10. You must have a narrative (voice-over) sound track that is mixed appropriately with the music soundtrack you produced in FL Studio

  11. Title graphics and overlays will be created in Adobe Photoshop/Illustrator.
    1. You need a station ID DOG/BUG (bottom right hand corner)
    2. You will need an an intro Title and an End Title (credits), and at least three other titles to inditate transitions or changes in your video.

  12. Your finished product will be 3  - 5 minutes in length (no less than 3 / no more than 5)

Project Timeline

This is a general timeline for how a video could be producted.

  • Day 1-2: Generate topic and storyboarding
  • Day 3 – 5: Filming of video content
  • Day 6-9: Video editing (cuts, fades, transitions)
  • Day 10-11: Create graphics and Titles for your video, using Adobe Flash/Adobe Animate/Adobe Photoshop/Adobe Illustrator
  • Day 12-17: Score the music for your video using FL Studio
  • Day 18-19: Post Production editing (mixing, arranging, etc)

Sometimes, in Premier Pro, if you do not import video first the program will scale your project to be whatever graphic you have in your folder. That nan be big, small, tall, wide, etc. Your project should be scaled at 1980 pixels by 1200 pixels (standard Full HD Video).

If you need to make sure your settings are right or you need to set them properly, go to SEQUENCE on the menu bar and then go to SEQUENCE SETTINGS. In this menu you can adjust the Height and Width of the project. The Width should be 1980 and the Height should be 1200
